I have cancer

                                     I HAVE CANCER!

Part 1:
So here's the story, while we were up in Idaho this summer I was having problems swallowing and a little soreness in my throat. I thought my condition was from all of the Forrest fires. when we left the area we figured it would go away. In Roswell new Mexico after seeing a specialist I was wrong. the biopsy confirmed "Squeamish cell carcinoma" on the back of my Tongue.

So now what?... We immediately called MD Anderson up in Phoenix, AZ (thanks to the direction of a few friends) and are in the process of being admitted to one of their programs. Won't really know until they review the file and make the determination as to the treatment. On a good note MD Anderson has full RV hookup for free ya!.

Now as we wait for the go ahead from the hospital I'm contemplating blogging about my experience in hope that sharing this journey will help my family and I deal with all of the trauma. I'm not use to opening my personal feelings it's difficult to try and explain whats going on in my head.

I know there are several people on my friends list that have or are going through the same thing, I'm hoping that by creating a dialog it might help us get through this trying time. Keep in mind that through all that's in the future I refere to Dylan Thomas:

Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though lovers be lost love shall not.
I will not go gental into that good nite.....

So here we go...
Aloha, kaha
